At the beginning of January I challenged myself to pick up my camera 25 days in a row and spend a few minutes photographing my kids. The goal was to capture more of our everyday life together – the normal, sometimes thrilling, but often mundane things. While hopeful to capture interesting light and fun moments with my girls, I was realistic that I would often find myself shooting in terrible light with less than happy children. You know, the real stuff. And while I had good intentions and started out strong (even blogging an image or two each day), this challenge was just that, challenging. I had banned the iPhone, and that along with very busy days, various illnesses, work and a vacation to pack for, I failed at my 25 day self-challenge. Boo.
But on the bright side, I did manage to capture the following and I know that had I not been working towards the goal of 25 images, most of these would not exist, or they would be on my phone. I plan to continue capturing more of the everyday on one of my cameras (with the iPhone only acting as a back-up) and hopefully will post every month. Maybe this means I will actually be organized enough to compile a photo book at the end of the year without spending hours (days) culling and editing. At the very least, the grandparents will be pleased :)
