The B Family | Toronto Family Photographer

I've been pleasantly surprised  by the number of inquires lately from those looking to capture their "extended" family. So often the only portraits we have with our parents or siblings are from our weddings, or significant events like the birth of a baby, and I don't know about you, but I was not looking too hot on the days either of my kids were born. Alternatively, we have selflies we've taken on our smart phones, which may get posted to Instagram or Facebook, but unless you are blessed with selfie-taking talent that results in photos that do not leave you with a double-chin or a view up your nose, chances are you are not printing and hanging these on the wall. So it's pretty awesome that more and more families are finding the time in their busy schedules to gather together for a morning or afternoon, and are having me tag along to capture their time with one another.

This family only had once chance at getting some family photos over the long weekend as they are separated by distances and it's rare they can all be together at the same time. Rain or shine (and it did pour rain), we had to make this happen. I joined them after their breakfast (homemade scones and a pot of tea were still on the table) and we spent our time in the backyard garden, briefly inside the house, and then a walk at a nearby park.
