Baby A and Family | Toronto Newborn Photographer

This was one of my last sessions of the summer and as the days get colder, I'm already longing for a warm sunny day. Am I the only one who is terribly disappointed to have to wear socks!?! I love this family. Pretty much that sums it up. They are always so easy-going and there is never a shortage of laughter. Could be because little Astrid says and does the funniest things (as 2-year olds do). And throwing a baby boy into the mix just means double the hugs and cuddles. AND, they have the coolest names. ever. Astrid and August. Why didn't I think of those names!?!

And here they are...

This season is busy!  Fall is such a beautiful time of year for family photos, and as the weather turns cooler and the days get shorter, everyone seems to scramble to get their yearly "family photos" scheduled in (myself included!). I have worked with some awesome families over the last few weeks and I have some beautiful portrait sessions to share, starting with this one – my sister and her crew!

My three year old...

It is hard to believe that my baby girl is three years old today! And like most three-year-olds, Robin is not interested in standing still for anything these days, especially not for me and my camera. So I literally had to chase her around the yard this past week, shouting out my bribes and begging her to stand in one spot. Like a crazy person. And I have to admit, I always finds myself emotional and nostalgic around holidays and thus a little bit crazy. And it looks like my kid's birthdays are turning out to be no different. But nevertheless, I'm glad my craziness resulted in these. My sweet little Robin, who likes to remind me that she is no longer a baby...

Nor is she a big girl.

She's a duck.

This is how I found her... Jocelyn-7110

I walked into her sunny room and met sweet baby Jocelyn for the first time. I knew how long her parents had waited for her, how much she was wanted, how much she was already loved, and I just couldn't hold it together – tears were flowing, nose was running and tissues were definitely needed. Thankfully her parents are good friends of ours and I assured them that I don't normally burst into tears at newborn sessions.

Jocelyn slept peacefully while I pulled myself together, and the rest of the morning was spent taking photos of this sweet family.

This sweet family welcomed their newest member at the end of July, and I got to spend a sunny morning with them shortly after. Baby E fits rights in and is clearly receiving LOTS of cuddles and kisses from Mom and Dad and her proud big brother.

It's been a whirlwind summer that is sadly coming to an end, but the busyness continues in to the fall. In fact, in gets busier! These three welcomed a sweet baby boy into the world last week and I'm off to meet him later this afternoon. For now, here's a peek at one of my favourite maternity sessions.

I spent an evening with this lovely family a couple of weeks ago – we stuck around the 'hood and actually found a few really great spots to shoot that I had never noticed before. I'm a sucker for pretty backyards and rustic front porches, but what I really fall for is a colourful garage! I can't believe we found such a gem so close by. Baby E refused to smile but she never failed to look at the camera – only her mom and dad were able to get the slightest smirk. The expression "old soul" suited her perfectly
