I spent an evening with this lovely family a couple of weeks ago – we stuck around the 'hood and actually found a few really great spots to shoot that I had never noticed before. I'm a sucker for pretty backyards and rustic front porches, but what I really fall for is a colourful garage! I can't believe we found such a gem so close by. Baby E refused to smile but she never failed to look at the camera – only her mom and dad were able to get the slightest smirk. The expression "old soul" suited her perfectly

Happy Monday! It's always nice to have some good online distractions as you ease yourself back into the work week – so here's a fun family shoot from a few weeks ago. It was during that crazy week where it would go from sunny to pouring rain in about 60 second flat, then back to sunny (I got caught in the rain at least 3 times that week!). Luckily, I arrived for this shoot right after a massive downpour of rain, only to find beautiful hazy sunlight, along with a pretty awesome family to go with it!

Twelve weeks already?!?

It’s hard to believe that it has been almost 3 months since our little Brooke came into our lives. “Brookie”, as Robin calls her, definitely feels like part of the Walker clan now. When Robin talks about her family, she always includes her "baby girl sister" (not to be confused with a "baby boy brother"). She's eager to help with Brooke's bath and bedtime and is always trying to give Brooke toys. Now if only she could grasp the concept of "gentle"... Thankfully, Brooke has come out of that insanely fussy newborn stage (man, what is it with weeks 6 to 9!?! ). She's almost always happy and to my delight, gives me smiles and coos all day long.

All tuckered out...

And here are a few shots of "life" taken over the last 6 weeks. It's crazy how quickly they grow and change.

I'm going to be catching up on some blog posts over the next couple of weeks so stay tuned. Lots of baby-goodness coming your way.

This family is near and dear to my heart as we've become friends over the past 2 years. Last summer, they welcomed a fourth member into the family – baby G. We had a beautiful summer day for G's newborn photos. And 6 months later (on a much colder February day), I spent some time again with baby G. His mom and I agree that this is just one of the sweetest stages that babies go through. They're sitting up, but not yet crawling or walking. And they are still so happily entertained by the simple things – toes and feet, Sophie the giraffe, and of course Mom's smiling face...

Oh my, don't you just want to squeeze him!?! 6-7 months is a GREAT age for a photo session and I (although biased) highly recommend it. It's a time that goes by much too fast.

This was my first shoot of 2013 and what better way to kick off the year than with a family that is near and dear to my heart. Big sister Veronica was happy to show off her little brother Jason and gave me some great smiles and giggles along the way

It's been a crazy few weeks and I'm behind on my blogging! Here's a super sweet family that I met with at the beginning of May. Rowan is 9 months old and is absolutely adorable ... and her parents aren't too bad either ;-)   There were lots of kisses, hugs and giggles, exactly what I love!

Violet | Toronto Family Photographer

Violet celebrated her first birthday yesterday! It's so hard to believe that it has been a year since I first met her, and snapped a shot of her and her mom before they even left the hospital. Kristen and I met up during the March "heat wave" and had some fun with Violet walking along a path at the Royal Botanical Gardens in Burlington. She is such a sweet baby and is always happy to smile for me.

Happy Birthday Violet! xo

I had hoped to get this session posted in time for Family Day, but alas it was delayed a few days. So I'm very happy to finally have some time this morning to share these shots of these beautiful little ladies and their parents. Brena was just shy of her first birthday and big sister Taryn is 3 1/2. Both girls had so much great energy and lovely smiles for me. Back when this session was booked, I wasn't sure what kind of weather we'd be faced with at the end of January, but we ended up with a mild day, perfect for a trip to the park.

Happy Family Day! (Better late than never, right?)

Fynn | Toronto Family Photographer

I'm scrambling to catch up on my blog posts which were put on the back burner the past few weeks. All 2011 sessions have been edited and gone out the door and prints have been ordered and are on their way! So I can finally relax and enjoy some posting! I met this gorgeous family at the end of November and I instantly fell in love. I knew right away they were special as Kendra and Brett enjoyed their lunch during the last few minutes of Fynn's nap. They were eating what looked to be the most delicious home-made mac & cheese in individual sized ramekins. That's my kinda lunch! Fynn woke up right on cue and I crept into the room with Kendra as she greeted her little man. It was so lovely to watch Fynn smile up at his mama as he stretched his sleepiness away. Kendra and Brett took their time dressing Fynn and enjoying his coos and smiles, and we then headed to the nearby park for a little walk. It was a beautiful November afternoon – fresh, crisp air and the perfect light for photos.

Kendra was so natural and easy in front of the camera, I asked if she modelled. She doesn't, but she could.Happy holidays you three and enjoy your trip to South Africa! xx
